He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Schaefer and Laurine Schaefer (Platte); his parents-in-law, Edwin and Bernita Harr; his daughters, Ann Marie Stevenson (Schaefer) and Kathryn Ann Przedwojewski (Schaefer); his siblings, Richard Schaefer (Dick), Alice Smith (Schaefer), Paul Schaefer, Joyce Anderson (Schaefer) and Jim Schaefer; and his in-laws, Joan Epkey, Jerry Smith, Joan Schaefer, Duane Anderson and Marilyn Schaefer.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Rita Schaefer (Harr); his sons-in-law, Brady Stevenson and Tom Przedwojewski (Diane); his children, Beth Dainton (Dave), Eric Schaefer (Lori) and Clint Schaefer (Sarah); his grandchildren, Kate Nordstrom (Brendan), Michael Dainton (Laura), Mary Beth Sanders (Lowell), Ben Stevenson (Molly), Matthew Dainton (Heather), Danielle Przedwojewski, Lexi Schaefer, Joey Przedwojewski, Wyatt Schaefer (Courtney), Emma Schaefer, Jake Schaefer (Katelyn), Olivia Schaefer and Elise Schaefer; his great grandchildren, Scarlett Dainton, Grace Dainton, Cora Dainton, Silas Dainton, Eleanor Dainton and Brenner Wheeler; and his brothers, Robert Schaefer (Bob) and Clare Schaefer (Elaine).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in memory of Larry.
