She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Robert Kirkup and Sally Madeline Kirkup (Shaheen); her husband Michael Birdsall; her children, Katharine and Benjamin; her siblings, Daniel Kirkup, Norma LaFever (Michael), Diane Vernal (W. Blaine) and Michael Kirkup; her siblings-in-law, Edward Birdsall, Margaret Kovas (James), Steve (Lora), Patrick (Elspeth) and Robert Birdsall (Sandy); and her nieces and nephews, Chris, Heather, Bryan, Greg, Amy, Wade, Erin, Michael, Derek and Derrick.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the U of M in Susan's honor.
