With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Johnnie Simpson of Dowagiac, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 12, 2026 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Johnnie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Johnnie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Carter and Lizzie Mae Carter (Rucker); her siblings, Ilene "Dit" Drummond of Vandalia, Michigan and Charlie Harper of Chicago, Illinois; and her cousin Zephree Fulton of Atlanta, Georgia..
