It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Kay Carsten of Durand, Michigan, who passed away on November 19, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan V. Friend and Agnes Friend (Ware); and her brothers, Eugene and Ron Friend. She is survived by: her husband Phillip Dale Carsten; her grandchildren, Nick Carsten (Ashley), Justin Carsten, Rebecca Wymer, Will Wymer (Meredith), Erin Carsten, Stephanie Carsten, Celina Velez (Jeff), Shay Pollard (Jon Post), Carson Pollard (Ellie), Kaylyn Carsten, Kadie Carsten and Kirby Carsten; her great grandchildren, Cohen Carsten and Vincent Velez; her brother Bernard Friend; her sister-in-law Shirley Friend; and her caregiver Peggy Schlushler. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
