He was predeceased by: his parents, William M. Long and Christine Long (Gean); and his sister Melissa Willis. He is survived by: his wife Debra Long (DeMoines); his children, Eric Long (Tammy Rohner), Tiffany Viall (Sig Viall), Desiree Long and Ashley Tia Sailor (Matthew Sailor); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Raymond Snyder, Collin Vavro, Hailey and Emmett Sailor; and his siblings, Donna Scyphers (Tom), Linda Boyle, Cliff Long (Carol), Alice Coffell (Jim), Martha Spencer (Marc), Theo Long and Myron Long. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
