He was predeceased by : his parents, Marvin May and Betty May (Taylor); and his sons-in-law, Kevin Buskirk and Martin Hanley. He is survived by : his wife Virginia May (LeVeque); his children, Candace Hanley, Gary May, Jr. (Jaime) and Melissa Holliday (Todd); his grandchildren, Allison, Shana, Austin, Whitney, Jocelynn, Taylor, Amiah, Memphis, Raelynn, Hanna and Phoenix; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Kenadie, Cove, Luka, Kevin and Dayton; his sisters, Cindy Arntz (Tom) and Lori Ayers (Darrin); and his mother-in-law Catherine LeVeque. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews.
