He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hesse and Hazelle Hesse (Bausch). He is survived by: his wife Martha "Marti" Hesse; his children, Jay Hesse (Linda), Pam Boyer (Paul) and Todd Hesse (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Jacob Hesse, Sam Tar, Oscar Hesse and Cadence Hesse; and his sister Carole Moore (Dan). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mills Funeral Home - Peters & Murray Chapel (301 E Jefferson St, Grand Ledge, MI 48837). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of John to MSU Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Project FISH or the Youth Education and Aquatic Stewardship Legacy, MSU University Advancement, 535 Chestnut Road Room 300.
