He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Schmidt and Clara Schmidt (Keimel). He is survived by: his children, Paul Joseph Schmidt (Elisa) of Lansing and Andrea Calabrese of Lansing; his grandson Eddie of Flint; and his siblings, Karen Lukas of Falmouth, Maine and Mike Madden (Sharon) of Tennessee.
