It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Balas (East Lansing, Michigan), born in Mount Clemens, Michigan, who passed away on October 1, 2019, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Balas and Eunice Balas. He is survived by: his husband Jim Sellman; his siblings, Philip Balas (Laura) and Leslie Balas; his niece Sarah Balas-Densen; and his nephews, Eric Balas (Caden) and Jared Cohen.

In lieu of flowers, David requested that any donations be sent to the following organizations: Ox-Bow School of Art, Saugatuck Center for the Arts, or the Allegan County Community Foundation Balas-Sellman Fund.

I remember dave (and his twin brother) as two of the nicest people in our dorm- always upbeat, never an unkind word about anybody. I still remember that they went to the kentucky derby that spring!
