He is survived by: his wife Marybeth Stecker Prince; his children, Daniel Prince (Debbie), Derrick Prince (Samantha) and Camille Prince; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Thomas, Teigen, Nina, Chandler Cook and Courtney Cook.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the University Lutheran Church (1020 S Harrison Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
Harold and his students made lasting contributions to the understanding of waterfowl and wetlands through their research and the publication of more than 60 peer-reviewed papers, a book and numerous book chapters.
