He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Martin, Sr. and Rita Vargas (Gallery). He is survived by : his wife MaryAnn Vargas; his children, Joseph Martin Vargas, III, Michael Vargas (Vicky) and Kathleen Vargas; his grandchildren, Brennan Vargas, Madeline Vargas and Thomas Vargas; and his brothers, Kevin Vargas and John Vargas (Veronica). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (955 Alton Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823-2785). A Mass will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 1:30 PM at 1310 Abbot Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823.
