She was predeceased by: her parents, Juanita Adeline Miller and John Edwin Abbott; her siblings, George Abbott and Joann Anderson; and her brothers-in-law, Joe and Ted Beekman.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Searl of Okemos; her sister-in-law Kay Beekman; and her friends, Tom and Bonnie Kent. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes (1730 E Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI 48823). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St Martha Catholic Church (1100 W Grand River Ave, Okemos, MI 48864).
