He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Ehnis and Marie A. Ehnis (Culver); his wife Linda Ehnis; his grandson Nathaniel Ehnis; and his brother Richard Ehnis (Sally).

He is survived by : his children, Laura B. Bennett (John) of Battle Creek, MI, Lisa M. Schmidt (Peter) of Colorado Springs, CO, David S. Ehnis (Amie) of Mason, MI and John M. Ehnis (Kristi) of Wayland, MI; and his siblings, Donald Ehnis (Deanna), Mary Ann Dixon and Steve Ehnis (Mary). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
