She was predeceased by: her parents, Arlo Thuma and Isadora Thuma (Austin); her brother Arthur Thuma; and her brother-in-law Carl Moist. She is survived by: her husband Gary Kunkel; her children, Eric Kunkel (Martha) and Rachel Bodziak (Robert); her grandchildren, Riley, Ava Kunkel and Kolya Bodziak; and her siblings, Arnie Thuma (Mary) and Sandra Moist. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
