He was predeceased by : his wife Pat; his brothers, Duane, Danny, Ernest and Bruce; his daughters, Kimberly and Patti Vogel; and his grandson Jeffrey Hancock.

He is survived by : his sister Judy Alexander; his children, Mary Hancock and Bernie Hartley II (Michelle); his grandchildren, Julee Hanna (Chris), Natalie Vogel, Nick Vogel and Jesse Hartley; and his great grandchildren, Olivia Hancock, Ryan Hanna and Alex Hanna.
