He was predeceased by: his parents, Marva Smith and Larry Smith; and his sister Renee Dewaters. He is survived by: his children, Zachariah of Farmington Hills and Charity of Eaton Rapids; his sister Virginia Burnham (Kim) of Eagle; and his sibling's children, Jason Dewaters (Andrea) of Lansing, Sarah (Sal) of Mason and Carl Burnham of Webberville.
