He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Simons; his children, Michael Simons of Eaton Rapids, Heather Allen of Eaton Rapids and William Smith of Lansing; his grandchildren, Mariah Simons, Alexandra Ringo, William Simons, Owen Simons, Halle Simons, Lindsay Lampson, Tayler Allen (Steven), Landon Allen (Sydney), Ciara Chamberlain (Brett) and Autumn Doxtader; and his siblings, Charles Simons, Daniel Carl Simons, Jackie Howe and Shirley Mueller. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
