He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce; his daughter Deborah Arnold; his granddaughter Brittney Whitaker; and his sisters, Betty June Bragg and Sally Jo Beals.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela McDaniel (Tony) of Eaton Rapids and David Schmidt (Liz) of Memphis, TN; and his grandchildren, Austin McDaniel, Madison McDaniel, Brayden McDaniel, Gracyn McDaniel, Nick Wild, Stephen Schmidt (Bekah), Sarah Taylor (Joshua), John Michael Schmidt (Amanda), Jared Schmidt (Maddie), Landon Schmidt and Caleb Schmidt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
