Brett E. Flanders Obituary
We announce the death of Brett E. Flanders of Eau Claire, Michigan, who passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 56. Brett will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Brett will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Brett will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Brett’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He is survived by: his parents, James Flanders (Martha) of Watervliet and Sharon K. Flanders (Justice) of Niles, Michigan; his wife Alyce Flanders of Eau Claire, Michigan; his children, Chris Grant (Kristi) of St. Joseph, Brooke Everett (Chris) of Hartford and Kayla Grounds (Joshua) of Marcellus; and his sisters, Tammy Howard (Jerry) of Dowagiac and Shawn Reynolds (Brian) of Niles. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Michiana Church of Christ (500 E Prairie Ronde St, Dowagiac, MI 49047). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made in Brett's memory to Hanson Hospice in care of Corewell Hospice 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
