He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Bishop and Stella Bishop (Atha); his wife Nila Jean; his brother Larry Bishop Sr.; and his granddaughter Julie Medlin Merideth.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Nieset (Dave), Jeananne Bishop, Edie Zars (Dave) and Wayne Bishop (Debbie); his sister Charlene Bishop (Roger); and his grandchildren, Jason Medlin (Jennifer), Laura Swanson (Kevin), Melissa Korn (Gabriel), Diana Podkowirow (Nick), Jake Zars (Megan), Josh Zars (Paige), Ben Kicas, Brian Kicas, Chris Nieset (Michelle), Nick Nieset (Abi) and Karma Nieset. He is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Love Creek Nature Center, Berrien Center (9292 Huckleberry Rd #9736, Berrien Center, MI 49102).
