He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmar Burgess and Edith Burgess. He is survived by: his wife Monica Burgess; his sons, Kevin Burgess (Jennifer), Robert Burgess and Tom Burgess; his grandchildren, Chris, Emma (Avery), Mike (Majesty), Nevin, Elora and Kiya; his great grandchild Charlotte; and his sisters, Donna McNeely (Tom) and Anita McCutchan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
