He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Veenstra and Engberdena Veenstra (VanderHeide); and his great grandchild Kenzi. He is survived by: his wife Jan (Anderson); his children, Julie DeKorne (Dan) of Kent City, MI, Jon Veenstra (Dawn) of Meridian, ID and Jennifer Pewinski (George) of Johannesburg, MI.; his grandchildren, Dan (Molly), Josh (Monica), Elizabeth, Josiah (Elly), Jeremiah (Megan), Caleb (Baylie), Jesse, Maggie, Jacob, Evelyn, Hannah and Rachael; his sisters, Flora Wynsma and Jennie VandeKieft; his sisters-in-law, Arlene Veenstra and Patsy Veenstra; and his caregivers, Tina, Rob, Chaplain Wallace and Mary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Eastport Baptist Church Mission Fund or the Banks Township Fire Department.
