He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph C. Helminiak and Carole A. Helminiak (Bray); and his close friend Jim Haener. He is survived by: his daughters, Shelby Helminiak (Nikolas Tsipis), Savana Gladieux (Kyle) and Stefany Miranda (Josh); his grandchildren, Gavin, Maxine, Madison, Sawyer, Sage and Stella; his siblings, Kathryn Bondy (Dean) and Rick Helminiak (Cindy); and his siblings-in-law, Gerri Daleska and Zarek Nalepa.
Social gatherings at local establishments—filled with laughter, stories, and good times—went hand in hand with his love for "donating to schools" via the Michigan lottery.
