She was predeceased by: her husband Elmer "Bud" Bessonen; her parents, Wesley Myllyla and Lempi Myllyla; her parents-in-law, Agnes and Elmer Bessonen; and her siblings, Kenneth, Melvin, Dennis Myllyla and June Schaefer.

She is survived by: her son Erik Bessonen (Kim); her grandchildren, Rachel Stier (Ben) and David Laughbaum (Alexis); her great grandchildren, Enzo Broadnax and Russell Laughbaum; and her sisters-in-law, Rose Myllyla and Nancy Myllyla. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church elevator update fund, a cause close to Florence's heart.
