It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances E. Dion of Escanaba, Michigan, who passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Frances has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Stimac and Arlene Stimac (Hoar); and her husband John Henry Dion Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Earl J. Maynard of Wells and Tammy Maynard (Todd Palzewicz) of Escanaba; her grandsons, Christopher, Zachery Jones and Justin Leask; her great grandchildren, Douglas and Mason; and her siblings, Thomas Stimac (Cheryl) of Tri Mountain and David Stimac (Diana) of L'Anse. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM and at 2:30 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home - Escanaba (302 13th St S, Escanaba, MI 49829).
