He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Whitney and Thelma Whitney (Hardy); his former wife Maxine Koch; his spouse Shirley LaMarche Prim; his brother Richard Whitney; and his close friend Pat Menard.
He is survived by: his sons, Timothy Whitney (Karen) of Gladstone, Mark Whitney (Tina) of Escanaba and William Whitney (Dawn) of Eagle River, WI; and his sisters, Joyce Niebes of Springfield, MS and Betty Pederson of Ocala, FL. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.
