It is with sadness that the passing of Kevin Chown (Escanaba, Michigan) is shared. Kevin, born on December 24, 1969, passed away on July 6, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Kevin Chown to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his uncle Freudian Slip (Light); his parents, John Chown (Sebastian Bach) and Ruth Nordine Chown; and his brother Mark. He is survived by: his uncles, Kracker, Tony Macalpine (Paul Gilbert) and EPs; his wife Julie Croasdell; his sisters, Amy Chown (Michael Growdon) and Karen Collier (David); his niece Arianna Townsend (Tyler); his great-nephew Wells Townsend; Sydney and Haley (Dalyn Loomis). He is also survived by his cousins and uncle and his large circle of friends who he considered his brothers.
Life on the road took an unexpected turn when the Covid pandemic in 2020 put the music industry on hold.
Contributions in his memory are also being accepted for the Kevin Chown Music Scholarship being established at Escanaba High School. (EHS, Attention Scholarships, 500 S. Lincoln Road, Escanaba, MI 49829.) Kevin leaves an inspiring legacy and would want you to honor his memory by going to listen to live music, making your community better, being kind and following your dreams.
