He was predeceased by : his parents, Gustaf Reinhart and Augusta Drefs (Erdmann); and his siblings, William Drefs, Otto Drefs, Leopold Drefs, John Drefs, Frederick Drefs, Wilma Dunagan, Hattie Comfort, Clara Ruest, Hannah Brawley, Julia Archambeau, Ethel Freeman and Pauline Strom.

He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Ann Porath; and his son Donald Paul Drefs of Kalamazoo, MI. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
