With sadness, we share the passing of Estella Dawn (Bates) Burson (Evart, Michigan). Estella, born on December 15, 1936, passed away on September 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Wayne Eugene Burson; her parents, Mabel Marie Holmes Bates and Norman Russell Bates; and her brothers, Gerald Norman Bates, Jack Russell Bates and Norman James Bates.
She is survived by: her children, Kim Marie Cook (Wayne), Karen Sue Vernier (Pierre), Randy Wayne Burson, Ricky Eugene Burson (Donna), Kelli Lou Shultz (late Dale), June Renea Lampson and David Arthur Burson (Amanda). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Corey Funeral Home (415 N Main St, Evart, MI 49631). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in Dawn's name can be made to St. Joseph's Indian School.
