He was predeceased by: his significant other Merriellen Maddern (Bridgewater); his parents, Theo Maddern and Helen Maddern (Norris); his sister Linda; and his brother-in-law Edwin Carmichael.
He is survived by: his family, Karen Lawrence of Evart and Nancy Maddern Perna; Bridgette Powell of Ohio, Gerald Perna Jr. and Erica Perna. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren all of TX; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family.
Knowing that animals held a special place in Gary's heart, the family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to Osceola County Animal Control (Shelter).
