He was predeceased by : his parents, Christopher "Lon" Brown and Sarah Lockwood (Pearsall-Brown); his daughter Matty Lawrence; his grandchildren, Jessie Jennings, John "Luke" Jennings, T. J. Lawrence and Zech Jennings; and his brother George Brown.

He is survived by : his wife Thela Brown; his children, Laurel Nichols, Alisa Burgess, Allen Brown and Kelly Brown; his grandchildren, Dale Nichols (Tonya Campbell), Roberta Wilt (Dave), Chris Babcock (Jamie), Michelle Berridge (Craig Gainer) and William Burgess (Danielle); his children, Sarah Anderson (Steven), Chloe Brown-Hawkins (Skyler), Josh Brown, Frank Ellis, Melisa Ellis, Tony Jennings (Stephanie), Nate Jennings and Andy Lawrence; his sister Eleanora McIntyre; and his caregiver Ed. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
