Lorene leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Lorene’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Lorene will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Oaks and Mary Oaks; and her siblings, Leola Kauffman (Walter), Erie Oaks and Vernon Oaks.
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Slaubaugh (Glen) of Rugby, ND, Edward Troyer of Fairview, MI and Barry Troyer (Laurene) of Fairview, MI.; her husband Orlo Marvin Troyer; and her sisters-in-law, Sovilla Oaks and Betsy Oaks. She is also survived by three children, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home (318 Pearl St, Mio, MI 48647). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fairview Mennonite Church (1583 M-33, Mio, MI 48621).
