“I was a good friend of Marty's in medical school in Des Moines. Marty was a kind, caring, gentle and very bright person with a great sense of humor. He loved dogs and was over our apartment frequently. He also loved Michigan and was always happy to return home. Always easy going and relaxed, he was a calming force during those rigorous years. I spoke with him shortly after his retirement from the VA while teaching at Wright State. He was a great person and will be missed. Larry Blattner”
