He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Johnston and Hope Johnston Jr. (Blasberg); his spouse Susann Meiden; his son Damon; and his brother Paul.

He is survived by : his daughter Rebecca DeSloover (Daniel); his grandchildren, Jade, Monet and India-Rose; and his sisters, Judith Koliba and Dawn Taylor (James).
