He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ruhlig and Eleanor Ruhlig (Simmet); and his sister Ruth Ann. He is survived by: his wife Linda Ruhlig; his children, Theresa Buccellato and Michael Ruhlig (Janice); his stepchildren, Gregory Packer (Nicole), William Packer (Rachel), Leanne Packer and Jeffrey Johnson; his grandchildren, Jennifer Zimmerman, Stephanie Buccellato, Jessica Buccellato and Kaleigh Ruhlig; his stepgrandchildren, Anthony Wayne Johnson and Audra Divine Packer; and his siblings, Barb Schaefer, Deborah Haven, Sue Witchger (Jerry), Brenda Neumeyer (Gary) and Walter Ruhlig (Mary Jo). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Hope Parish (106 E Wheaton Ave, Clare, MI 48617). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church (106 E Wheaton Ave, Clare, MI 48617).
