She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Roland and Bessie Mae Staats (Shiel); and her siblings, Terry Staats and Sharon Moore. She is survived by: her husband Walter Smedley of Farwell; her children, Tisha Johns (Bob) of Farwell, Chad Smedley (Emily) of Lansing, Karrie Smedley (Matt) of Farwell and Rebecca Brininstool (Ken) of Evart; her grandchildren, Adam (Amber), Tristen (Ashley), Wyatt, Dru, McKenzie, Dekon, Logan and Cole; her siblings-in-law, Carl Moore of Evart, Joe (Cheri), Barry (Angel), Mark (Marie), Wanda Staats of Weidman, Earlene and Suzie; Casey. She is also survived by great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the American Legion Post 558 (400 E Ludington Dr, Farwell, MI 48622).
