He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Whitten and Ruth L. Whitten; and his brothers, Terry and Mike. He is survived by: his wife Ann; and his children, Mark (Lynette), Karen Edwards (Jerry), Dan (Jamie), John (Elizabeth) and Jeff (Tina). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; and 6 great‑grandchildren.
