She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Karppinen and Viola Karppinen (Engle); and her brother Kevin Parry. She is survived by: her husband Paul D. Gent; her children, Chea Bennett of Fenton, Jim Bennett (Samantha) of Flint, Amber Bennett (Jason Manning) of Davison and Aaron Smith (Shana Smith) of Flint; her grandchildren, Nikolas, Jordan, Olivia, Amiya, Ethan, Kole, Neiko and Izabella; and her sisters, Cathy Haskins of Pennsylvania and Laura Biros (Wayne) of Colorado. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
