James Edward Rockafellow Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of James Edward Rockafellow of Fenwick, Michigan. James Edward, born on July 26, 1936, passed away on September 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Earl Rockafellow and Cora Marcy; his siblings, Louise Jorgensen, Lois Jenks, Norma Nestle and Gerald Rockafellow; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Jorgensen, Stanley Jenks, Bill Nestle, Renee Adams and Janet Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Jean Adams; his children, Keith (Michelle Rockafellow), Craig (Patty Rockafellow), Mark (Jackie Rockafellow), Steven Rockafellow of Grand Rapids and Susan (Raymond Thomasson); his grandchildren, Cory, Jennifer Rockafellow of Ionia, Kyle Rockafellow of Ionia, Garrett Rockafellow of Chicago, Sam, Breann Rockafellow of Greenville, Andrea, Vladimir Edelman of Sheridan, Alex, Sheila Almy of Belding, Meggan Neilson of Stanton, Courtney Ballard of Portland, Zane, Laura Thomasson of Chicago and Patrick Thomasson of Ionia; his sister Nila (Charles Johnson); and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Detwiler of Holt, Gary, Brenda Adams of Stanton, Dennis Adams of Stanton and Thomas Adams of Lapeer. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shiloh Community Church (8197 Heth St, Orleans, MI 48865). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Palo Cemetery (8279 Main St, Fenwick, MI 48834).
