He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Runkel and Lydia Runkel (Plogsterd); his wife Lois Runkel; and his son-in-law Mike Ford. He is survived by: his children, Linda Runkel (Mark Boehm) of Niles, Ellen Ford of Newaygo, Andrew Runkel (Tammy) of White Lake and Sam Runkel (Anna) of Fife Lake; his grandchildren, Brad, Nate Runkel, Brooke Calderon (Alex), Zack Ford (Laura), Matt Ford, Adeline Ford, Sammy Runkel (Rieley) and Tommy Runkel; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Abe Runkel, Dominic, Gia, Cain Calderon, Mikey, Lily Ford and Brody Ford.
