He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Kosinski; his children, John Jr. (Debbie) of Saginaw, Jeff (Heather) of Pinconning, Darrin (Angie) of Filion and Kim Forbing (Tyler Samons); his grandchildren, Zachary, Rylee, Skylar, Tyler, Hailey, Brennan, Lucas, Mason, Rosalie and Clara; his great grandchild Peyton; his siblings, Charlie (Gayle), Dan, Edwin (Joann), Thomas (Hanne), Randy (Wendy), Neva Finkbeiner and Barbara Peck (Jack); his sister-in-law Susan Nazem; and his stepsiblings, Ruthie Mainguy, Larry Armstead (Beth) and Dave Armstead (Barb). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
