She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Ankney and Lois Ankney; and her husband Richard Matthews. She is survived by: her siblings, Janice McDonald (Robert), Patrick Ankney (Christine) and Thomas Ankney (Deborah); her children, Jenifer Vesperman (Jay), Lisa Matthews (Gregory Dusten), Neil Matthews (Laura) and Anthony Matthews (Hailey); and her grandchildren, Cecilia, Samuel, Charlotte, Vivian Vesperman, Maelyn, Henry, Zeke, Wyatt, Owen and Eli Matthews.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home (30895 W Huron River Dr, Flat Rock, MI 48134). A prayer was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 at 6:30 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home Chapel (30895 W Huron River Dr, Flat Rock, MI 48134). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
