He was predeceased by: his parents, Abe Smith and Allie Smith; his former wife Ada Messer Smith; his grandson Steven Smith; his stepmother Hazel Smith; his siblings-in-law, Gibb Hensley of Wayne Keen, G. C, Trent, Duck Abner and Myrtle Smith; his daughter-in-law Judy Smith; Jerry Smith, J. S. Smith, Ken Smith, Lena Trent and Odie Abner.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Smith; his children, Marlene Marcum (Troy), Wendell Smith (Mindy), Wanda Sue Reeves (Mike) and Allen Smith (Flora); his sisters, Emma Keen of Buzzard and Barb Hensley of Girdler; and his pet Dexter. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, his extended family.
