It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Caroline Scott (Flat Rock, Michigan), born in Freemansburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Earnest Scott; her son Gordan Scott; her parents, Lewis Schlener and Leila Schlener; and her siblings, Jean Reddick, Hilda Laichalk, Lois Grimsley, Lewis Schlener Jr. and James Schlener.
She is survived by: her children, Earnest Scott (Jeryl) and Susan Stephens (Terry); her grandchildren, Jason Stephens (Melissa), Eric Stephens (Stephanie), Jessica Golden (Luke) and Megan Scott; and her great grandchildren, Camden, Rylan, Charlotte Stephens and Myra Golden. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Michigan Memorial Chapel (30895 W Huron River Dr, Flat Rock, MI 48134). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Her charitable spirit was evident through her contributions to several organizations, including St. Jude's, Wounded Warriors, Boys Town, and the A.S.P.C.A. Though modest in means, Shirley found great joy in giving whatever she could.
