Bernita (Holmes) S. Abbey Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on March 13, 2024, at the age of 80, Bernita (Holmes) S. Abbey of Flint, Michigan, born in Hornersville, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Holmes and Effie Holmes; and her siblings, Jim Holmes, Pete Holmes, Lowell Holmes, Glen Holmes and Ina-Sue Lands.
She is survived by: her husband Louis Abbey; her daughters, Karen Blackmore (Chris) of Flushing, Sharon Cory (David) of Flint Township and Pamela Silva (Antonio) of Flint Township; her grandchildren, Ricky Cory (Karisa), Trisha Cory, Timothy Franks (Nadine), Chelsea Stroup (Joe), Brooke Blackmore, Cameron Blackmore, Kristen Leet (Jason), Brooke Combs (David), Anthony Silva, Amanda Graham, Stephanie Silva, Thomas Silva, David Silva, Heaven Silva and Drake Silva; her sister Alice Sides; and her close friends, Judy Pidgeon (John), Madge Bost (Don) and Pat Barry (Bill). She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of her granddaughter, Trisha Cory.
