She was predeceased by: her parents, John McDaniel and Idella McDaniel; her husband Jerry G. Compton Sr.; her children, Jerry G. Compton Jr. and Chyrita M. Golden; and her siblings, Lee Ethel Flemon, Ida King, Herman, Sherman, William, Clarence, Bobby, Lamar and Otis McDaniel.
She is survived by: her sons, Derrick of Flint and Lamanuel of Detroit, MI; her sister Jetta Davis of Los Angeles, CA; her grandchildren, Kia Serwaa (Willie) of Chesapeake, VA, Sania Compton of Chesapeake, VA, Kisha of Flint, Lamanuel Jr. of Towaco, NJ, Nicholas of Durham, NC, Morgan Bedgood (Rene Jr.) of Atlanta, GA, LaChyara Quander (Jemez) of Largo, MD, Deonte Golden of Flint and Taqualia Weems of Flint; her great grandchildren, Promise Golden, A'Nie Compton, Anya Lee, Anyx Jewel Serwaa, Celenna Compton, Soleila Quander and Rene Bedgood III; her goddaughter Joyce Benton; and her close friends, Pearl Coney and Eleanora James.
