STEELE, Mrs. Carolyn G. -Age 57, passed away Thursday, February 2. 2023 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 PM Friday, February 17, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with Memorial Service commencing at 2:00 PM, Pastor John Jenkins, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the Funeral Home 1:30 PM Friday February 17, 2023. There will be no public viewing. Ms. Carolyn Grace Skinner "Tootsie" was born June 24, 1965 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Secret Griffin and Nellie Skinner.
Ms. Skinner lived in Flint for all of her life, she obtained her CNA license in 1991. She graduated from the Zimmerman Center and then attended Baker College. Carolyn enjoyed working, cooking, dressing up, gambling, listening to music and dancing. She was a very devoted Mother to her children. Carolyn loved her children and family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Her energy would brighten a room, she was very loving, giving, forgiving and loyal to everyone she met and was loved by all.
Carolyn took in anybody and everybody. She was always understanding and pure and felt like three strikes was never enough for anyone. Carolyn would give you her last and always put everyone else before herself. Ms. Carolyn Skinner leaves to cherish her memory: 1 son, Terrance Skinner; 3 daughters, Jack'ee Gentry (De'Andre), Kiara Skinner (LaRenta) and Chandan'ee Skinner, all of Flint, MI; 6 grandchildren, Keymore'e Skinner, Key'Mariah Skinner, Ja'Marion Wilson, Dont'a Goodlow, Taijan'e Ward and Ja'Mia Gentry; 1 sister, Catherine Skinner; 3 brothers, Lester Skinner, Edward Skinner and Douglass Skinner, all of Flint, MI; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins who loved her very much including the Wright and McNeal family; special friends, Kevin Hamlett (father of her children), Nina Richardson and Teresa Contreras; god-daughters, Janice and JoeWillie Broadnax.
Ms. Skinner was preceded in death by her father, Secret Griffin; mother, Nellie Skinner; sisters, Virginia Skinner, Betty Skinner and Denice McNeal; brothers, Preston Skinner and Joseph Skinner; and 2 nephews.
