She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Hewitt and Beatrice Hewitt (McGinley); her husband Juan Mata; her brother John "Jack" Hewitt; and her son-in-law Pat Cooper.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Mata (Brenda Brissette), Diane Mata-Cooper (Jim Love) and Dale Mata; her grandchildren, Brent Mata (Sonali Arora), Brandon Mata, Bryce Mata (Angela Lopez) and Kayla Winkler (John); her great grandchildren, Malini, Meera Mata, Sloane Winkler and Isley Mata; and her niece Anne Juarez-Wills.
