He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Helmer and Beverly Helmer (Hart); his wife Patricia Cross; and his grandson Andrew Helmer. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Helmer (April) of Kentucky and Jamie Hoffman (Scott) of Swartz Creek; his grandchildren, Sean Helmer, Aubrey Harper (Wesley), Allison Helmer, Lucas Helmer and Brett Hoffman; and his brother Mike Helmer (Janet) of Arizona. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
