He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Otto and Laurine Frances Holtz (Schafer); his children, Dawn Holz and Shaun Holtz; and his siblings, Marlene Martin, Carolyn Frome and Merline Holtz.
He is survived by: his daughter Deann Messinger (Scott) of Flint; his grandchildren, Kayla Holz, Daryn Hoogerhyde (Anna) and Charles Williams; his great grandchildren, Adriana Hoogerhyde and Sutton Lou Hoogerhyde; and his sister Betty Baker of Flint.
